    4.0 Patch Notes

    Annihilus 4.0 Changelog:


    General Changes:


    • Ladder Reset! Runes will not be on the Gold Vendor for the first week of the reset. The first player to hit Level 99 on Softcore + Hardcore will receive an exclusive Effect, Dark Matter. There will be prizes announced for 2nd and 3rd shortly.


    • Endgame curve has been modified. Non-inferno items should get you to a point where you can start grinding away at Inferno, and eventually progress to final endgame such as Dreamlands / Crucible. This means the drop rate of Plaguelands and anything higher has been changed, most inferno-based zones have had their drop rates lowered to keep value in non-inferno Uniques and Sets.


    • Non-Inferno Monsters have had their damage and HP slightly increased.


    • A lot of cleaning up! I will not list them all, but several bugs / issues have been addressed, such as Omega Andariel teleporting behind Walls.


    • MASSIVE upgrades done behind the scenes, allowing us some awesome future content patches. This was the main reason for the full wipe this reset. The cap of each stat on a single item has been greatly increased for most mods.



    Class Changes:


    Assassin

    • Martials Arts tree FULLY reworked. Just about every skill is different, I will not go into full details here it would just be too much, check it out in game! All kick skills are no longer "kicks" meaning they will benefit from weapon damage and Claw Mastery, just a heads up. Have fun!


    • Trap tree has been modified.


    • Death Sentry has been buffed. It now shoots a higher amount of times, and has higher synergy %.


    • All traps now shoot atleast 10 times.


    • Shuriken Flip has new mechanics. The hitbox is much cleaner, and easier to see where you are attacking. Damage and Range has also been increased.


    • All traps now benefit from % element damage increase mods and %element piercing mods! Because of this, the Trap Damage mod no longer exists.


    • Shadows now have an increased item level, and increased Life and Attack Rating per level.


    Barbarian

    • Shield Throw Mana Cost has been increased.


    Druid

    • Shapeshifting tree has been fully reworked.


    • Werebear now grants Physical Pierce.


    • Werewolf now grants Velocity.


    • Feral Rage has had it's damage and attack rating per level increased. Also has a higher maximum of charges. Now grants Damage Reduction % per charge.


    • Rabies damaged greatly increased, and now also lowers enemie's damage and attack / cast speed.


    • Fury now hits up to 10 times, increased Attack Rating per Level, and has 25% faster animation.


    • Maul's Damage has been increased, and has a higher maximum of charges. Grants more damage per charge.


    • Fire Claw's Damage has been increased, and has new synergies.


    • Hunger has been replaced by Pounce.


    • Shock Wave now uses Attack / Swing animation rather than Cast animation, making it scale from IAS. Shock Wave also now scales from Weapon Damage, meaning it can trigger on-hit abilities; including CTC, CB, OW, etc.


    • You can now Teleport while Shapeshifted.


    • Elemental Tree has been heavily modified. Wind / Cold side is more for single target, while Fire side is more for AoE.


    • Twister now releases more missiles. Damage, Speed, Synergy %, and Range have all been increased.


    • Tornado now does 50% Physical and 50% Cold Damage. Damage per Level has been increased. Now hits every 2 frames, instead of every 15. Anything staying in it will get hurt!


    • Hurricane now does 50% Physical and 50% Cold Damage. Increased Synergy %, now hits every 10 frames instead of 20. Lowered cooldown by 75%. Now grants user 1% Physical / 1% Cold Pierce per base skill level.


    • Molten Boulder's Damage has been greatly increased. Synergy % has also been increased. No longer has a cooldown. This will be a Fire Druid's best close range / single target damage ability.


    • Fissure's Synergy % has greatly been increased. Fissure now hits more often. Cooldown lowered.


    • Volcano's Synergies now increase both it's Physical and Fire Damage. Increased Damage per Level, now attacks much faster. Cooldown lowered.


    • Armageddon now does 50% Physical and 50% Fire Damage. Synergies have been modified. Increased Damage per Level. Now gives 2% Increased Fire Skill Damage per base skill level. Cooldown lowered by 75%.


    • All Druid pets can now be summoned at once (both types of wolves, and bear).


    • Wolves and Bears now benefit from the Druid's Physical Pierce and Attack Rate (Fanaticism, Wolf form, etc. NOT IAS)


    • Wolves and Bears have had every single stat increased across the board. This includes AR, Defense, Damage, Life, Resists.


    • Grizzly now has Crushing Blow. Grizzly will grant Spirit Wolves Open Wounds, and Dire Wolves Deadly Strike per base skill level.


    • Murder of Crows has new mechanics, It is no longer a channel ability. It can now be casted while shapeshifted. Damage Synergy % increased.


    • Spirit of Barbs now also grants Damage Reduction %.


    Necromancer

    • Bone Spear has increased Damage per Level, and increased Synergy %.


    • Bone Spirit has increased Damage per Level, and increased Synergy %.


    • Poison Maelstrom now benefits from Pierce.


    • Clay Golem's Slow has been drastically lowered, but now gains Crushing Blow.


    • Blood Golem now applies Prevent Monster Heal.


    Paladin

    • Holy Bolt now hits all targets, not just undead.


    • Zeal's base damage has been increased.


    • Blessed Hammer speed has been reverted to normal speeds. Blessed Hammer now scales off of 3/4 Weapon Damage. This means it can proc on-hit effects.


    • Fist of the Heavens no longer uses the Casting Animation. Mana cost lowered, Damage Synergy increased. Fist of the Heavens now has to be "locked" on, it no longer does a radius search.


    Sorceress

    • Enchant's Synergy has been changed. Enchant now also increases Fire / Cold / Lightning % Skill Damage of the enchanted. Has new synergies to increase the skill damage buff.



    Item Changes:


    • TONS of non-inferno Uniques and Sets have been buffed. This includes your Elite Sets, such as Natalya's, Aldur's, Griswold's, etc. I cannot list them all here, I will list anything that needs to be specifically pointed out! Be sure you look at all uniques you find, as they may be a bit better than you recall!


    • Endgame (inferno) items have been heavily modified. This includes both buffs and nerfs. Every Cthulhu item has been changed in some shape or form, Dreamland items as well. Most Abyss Spheres have also been modified. Several frustrating items have been changed; for example Hysteria no longer casts Mark of the Twins and Frostmourne's Syndragosa has had the animation once again greatly cleaned up.


    • All Organ and Puzzle drop rates have been slightly lowered.


    • Crafting (Blood) recipes that used to require a specific item base can now use any weapon / armor.


    • Iridescent Wings, the reward for first Level 99 last season, is now on the Gold Vendor.


    • Several Runewords have been buffed. This includes: Beast, Bramble, Breath of the Dying, Chaos, Chains of Honor, Deadeye, Dragon, Doom(doom can also now be made in any weapon), Enigma, Faith, Fury, Hand of Justice, Heart of the Oak, Infinity(infinity can also now be made in any weapon), Last Wish, Pride ( pride can also now be made in any weapon), and Phoenix.


    • Heart of the Shadow has had it's stats slightly lowered. Can now only be made in claw-type weapons.


    • You can now craft an Orb of Alchemy by cubing 1 of every Divine Gem together, excluding the Divine Skull. Cubing them with the Skull as well will still create the Orb of Transmogrification.


    • Sur Rune and Pul Rune now have different weapon effects.


    • Hellfire Torch now casts Hellfire Nova instead of Firestorm. (Firestorm was the main cause of animation lag).


    • Trag-Oul set Transformation now has increased FCR and IAS breakpoints.


    • % Elemental Skill Damage enchants have been nerfed. They now give 5%, down from 10%.


    • The following Enchants have been added: (2) 5% Pierce for Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, Physical, and Magic. (2) Prevent Monster Heal. (8) Teleport.


    • Cache of R'lyeh has been reworked. When opening with the Key of the Old Ones it now always gives a random Puzzle (either from Dreamlands or one of the rare drops, such as Tyrael, Ctoggha, Trag-Oul mark), a Divine Gem, and an Infernal Pearl. Opening it at the Altar will instead give you a Divine Gem, a Perfect Gem, and a random item; just like an Infernal Chest would.



    Monster Changes:


    • Azathoth no longer has a 100% chance to drop a Cache of R'lyeh.


    • The Lich King's Sindragosa damage has been lowered.


    • Inferno Summoner's now use Pyroblast instead of Fire Wall.


    • Kaluut's Acid Rain damage has been lowered.


    • Djinn's Searing Light damage has been slightly lowered.
