Crashed as i went into portal..didnt load another char (sorry!). couldn't rejoin the game...

i took a screenshot before i went in just in case..

i have been told to use the max resolution by someone?

You need the max resolution before going to tyrael.
I'll add more:
The worldstone event may crash on a specific area when you go through the cathedral to omega andy.
The worldstone event may crash when you enter the silver portal.
The crucible event may crash when entering lvl 9 portal (nothing will help you if you are a leader)
The crucible event may crash when killing othueg at lvl 19 (nothing will help you if you are a leader)
The crucible event may crash if you use PC
The crucible event may crash if you use windows
The crucible event may crash if you put your right foot on left foot
The crucible event may crash if you are vegan
