Getting a checksum error in patch_d2.mpq error when I try to update. It says that some installation files are corrupt, please download a fresh copy and retry the installation.

I would do a Fresh INSTALL then. Make a Fresh Diablo II Copy, then Download http://launcher.annihilus.net/AnnihilusInstaller.exe
