I've meant what is the maximum amount of pierce, after which it makes no sense to increase it. If you say more is better, then -150 is not the maximum? From where or how did you get that info btw?

There are some monster resists you will never break, the amount to aim for us -200 though.

The Ryleh dragons on crucible level 14 and Mappo will require close to 200 if not more to kill in a reasonable amount of time. There is no maximum amount of pierce that you can have. However, monster resist can go to a minimum of -100. Mappo has 200 physical resist and at least 200 fire resist. It would take 300 pierce to those elements to get him to -100 resistance and 100+ to even do damage to him. Note that Mappos fire resist appears to be higher than 200 as my fire trapsin with lk boots, (-10-15) 2 tricksters, (-30) and azmo armor (-75) couldnt do damage to him.

I think monsters resists go lower than -100, but I'm not 100% on that. I think it's -200. Also I'm pretty sure mappo has 250 physical resist. Just get as much pierce as you can, and your damage will be all around more effective.

You can go lower than -100. Reason why cold mastery exists and how in d2 vanilla, a PVP blizzard sorc can 1 hit some opponents.

Resists cannot go lower than -100 total! That's why with 0 resists in hell you'll have -100, but if you get hit with lower resist it will not go any lower. However, as mentioned before, some monsters have 200 resistance to an element so it will take 300 piercing to get it to -100.
