Keeps pitching:
Checksum error in D2Client.dll
Checksum error in D2PK\patch_d2.mpq
Checksum error in D2Ex.mpq
Checksum error in patch_d2.mpq
It is also the culprit behind deleting D2Client.dll and patch_d2.mpq. No anti-virus/firewall running, Defender disabled. Multiple reinstalls to this. Downloaded client, upgraded to 1.13d.

Was going route of using a previous b.net installer via tomes of MPQ. Downloading copy via torrent (legit keys) that goes way of VCD rather than using CDs I do have due to lack of hardware support (unplugged, no sense in plugging back in; digital age).

Still no dice via (V)CD route as opposed to digital download edition. Still same errors:
Checksum error in D2Common.dll <---- Just realized this one changed.
Checksum error in D2PK\patch_d2.mpq
Checksum error in D2Ex.mpq
Checksum error in patch_d2.mpq
Been running as administrator to no avail.

Sounds like your installer isn't downloaded fully. Can you confirm that it is 196MB in size?

Yes, I can confirm that. Have downloaded a few times now.

Actually, all of them are 195MB, but downloads show as 196MB. Running Windows 7, kinda frustrated with this.

That sounds like a firewall issue, if you're sure you've select the Annihilus network!
