Unhandled Exception: access_violation (c0000005)

Installed a fresh copy of d2+d2 LOD, download and extracted Annihilus into d2 folder as directed. When attempting to launch game I get the error in the title. Already searched forums with not much luck. Followed what little i could find and was unable to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have installed directly from disc (we don't support or comment on torrented copies of D2 btw), please make sure you have installed D2 full installation, then LOD full installation (as well as copy the necessary .MPQ files from the disk that weren't installed afterwards), then made sure you installed the official LOD v1.13d.

It helps to test out and make sure your unmodified stock D2 install is in perfect working order, and backed up, before installing the Annihilus launcher. After that, try installing the Annihilus launcher again. Please be aware that sometimes Annihilus mod sometimes gets script errors, but does not crash your game. If you are getting errors that result in your game crashing to desktop, please post screenshots make a bug report, and we can go from there. Hope this helps a little.
