Does anyone else's merc get nuked by poison damage despite their resistances? I've tried many combinations of gear on my act 2 merc. Even with 90 to all resists and 5x my health, he still get's nuked in comparison. In or out of combat. What gives?

my act one merc doesnt die due to poison, but the act 2 merc has not been upgraded and i would not recommend using one. the other mercs are better now
you can also use items that add the Poison Length Reduction mod, which greatly reduces inflicted damage.
for example:
100 poison damage over 2 seconds (we can say that is 25 poison damage every .5 second?)
apply 75% PLR
would turn into 25 poison damage over .5 seconds
It sure would be nice if mercs could equip shields

Right after I posted that I remembered that act 3 mercs can use shields. I rarely ever used them in the good old days of d2. That and I hadn't had my coffee yet it is in fact Inferno Lilith that tears my merc a new anus. It's not really that big of a deal. More of an annoyance. It just seems odd. She is the only mob that gives him trouble. She can even two shot him with her melee. I have him equipped with a Reaper's Toll for decrepify. That curse alone makes doing inferno runs much smoother.
Kaluuts armor is amazing
thats what i meant game the skills, the other mercs skill far surpass the act 2 merc imo for surviviability, the act 2 merc seems to run into the fray and die faster than the others
