    SotR Beta July 30th Changelog:



    General:

    • Sorceress's Elementalist Skill Tree has been revamped! Full details found under the Sorceress class section.



    Classes:

    Assassin

    • Cobra Strike now properly converts its weapon damage to poison damage.



    Necromancer

    • Bone Spear now shoots 3 spears instead of 1.



    Sorceress

    • Fire Ball now inflicts Ignite to all enemies it hits for 3 seconds, triggering an additional explosion right away and another explosion every second. Fire Ball no longer pierces and is destroyed on initial impact.


    • Fire Wall's hitbox has been increased. Fire Wall now releases Conflagration when hitting an enemy that is Ignited, with a 5 second cooldown per enemy. Conflagration deals Fire Wall's base damage, and additional damage based on your Fire Ball's current level. Fire Wall's base damage has been decreased to compensate.


    • Meteor's damage per level has been increased at later levels, and now lowers the fire resistance of all enemies (based on Fire Ball's current level) near the initial impact if hitting an enemy that is Ignited.


    • Hydra's base damage and damage per level has been slightly increased. Hydras once again use Fire Bolt instead of Fire Ball. Hydras now release Pyroclasm when hitting an enemy that is Ignited. Pyroclasm deals Hydra's base damage, and additional damage based on your Fire Ball's current level.


    • Lightning Skills now have a new lightning charge mechanic. Every Lightning Elementalist skill will grant 1 lightning charge, with 4 charges being considered as fully charged. Most Lightning Elementalist skills will gain an additional effect if casted when fully charged.


    • Charged Bolt's base damage and damage per level has been increased. Has double missile speed and bolt count when casted while fully charged.


    • Nova's damage per level has been increased at later levels. Increases cast speed when casted while fully charged, and its cast speed buff will no longer temporarily prevent Nova from expanding.


    • Lightning's damage per level has been increased, and no longer increases the chance for an enemy to be shocked. Casts Static Discharge if you are fully charged, which will lower the lightning resistance of all enemies hit.


    • Thunder Storm's damage per level has been increased, and now increases the chance of being shocked for all enemies that it hits.


    • Static Field now has its range doubled when casted while fully charged.


    • Glacial Spike's damage per level has been increased, but no longer pierces. Glacial Spike will now impale the surrounding area when chilling an enemy or hitting a chilled enemy.


    • Frost Nova's damage per level has been increased at later levels. No longer innately lowers cold resistance per cast, but will lower cold resistance when chilling an enemy or hitting a chilled enemy.


    • Blizzard's base damage, damage per level, radius, and duration has been increased. No longer has a nexthit delay, and now lowers run speed when chilling an enemy or hitting a chilled enemy.


    • Howling Blast now properly converts its weapon damage to cold damage.



    Items:

    • Chimera's Eye (unique Vortex Orb, Crucible Chimera drop) has been enabled.


    • Horadric Jewel (unique Jewel, Crucible Cain drop) has been enabled.


    • Elder of Tristram (unique Dusk Shroud, Crucible Cain drop) has been enabled.


    • Devil's Bargain now checks your life value more often for its effect.


    • Heart of Hell no longer grants Armageddon as an oskill. (Existing items will not be affected)



    Monsters:

    • Oblivion Knights now use ranged Howling Blast instead of Tornado.


    • Crucible Monsters now deal increased damage, except for Stitches. Stitches' life and damage has been decreased, along with the benefits he receives from Flesh Frenzy.


    • Crucible Bosses now take less damage.


    • Several Crucible Monsters will now use different skills.


    • Vampire Fire Wall damage has been decreased.


    • Several monsters that used to cast Teeth will once again be able to cast it.


    • Dark Flan will once again cast Blizzara in Riftstones and Crucible.



    Areas:

    • Crucible's density has been lowered by roughly 50% for all levels.


    • Crucible's Cemetery of the Forsaken map has had its score multiplier increased and its timer increased by 60 seconds.


    • Crucible will now drop overall less loot, but now has an increased chance of higher rarities.


    • Crucible no longer has a staircase to leave Level 1 once you enter.


    • Mercenaries will now automatically revive when entering a new level of the Crucible.


    • Items should no longer drop in unobtainable areas in Challenger's Reprieve.


    • Durance of Hate Riftstone will no longer occasionally spawn the entrance portal in a place where you cannot move.



    Bugs:

    • Potentially fixed various disconnect issues with the Crucible, such as when a player is teleported to the loot room or when completing a level while in a party. Also fixed an issue preventing players from receiving loot if they clear Level 100.


    • Potentially fixed the rare issue causing mercenaries to permanently disappear when dying. We may revisit this in the future if necessary.


    • Mercenaries will no longer continue to take damage from damage over time effects when they are revived.


    • Damage over time effects are now removed when entering a safe area such as town.


    • Fixed an issue causing players to crash when dying in the Labyrinth of Madness.


    • Fixed an issue causing the d2 logfile to fill up about a missing monster file.
