Things I've tried:
-Moving to C:\Annihilus (previously just in an Anni folder on my desktop, worked perfectly). Doing this let me at least be able to open d2, but it's with the vanilla patch, and I get the 00005 error if I try to log on.
-DEP exceptions
-Resetting computer
-Fresh full install
-Cutting myself
Now I just get this error when I try to update. Everything is running as admin, so I just don't get it.

Did u reinstall orginal Diablo? It runs patch 1.13? Is ur antivirus blocking anything?
What's your anti-virus status? I had problems with updating when my windows defender started automatically deleting files and programs that it deemed a risk. I had to add the entire directory to the exception list or shut off defender.
I haven't had to mess with defender for a while. I just searched an old harddrive for my d2, and installed from that. I'm just gonna go slit now, because it still isn't working.Originally Posted by LordManhammer

It used to let me restore the quarantined shit, but now the "virus" hasn't been showing up in the quarantined list.
I've done it literally five times.
That's what it started doing to me. Try re-installing one more time from scratch, this time with Windows defender and any other ant-virus shut off.
Still didn't work. Officially giving up, it was fun while it lasted guys :P
