WHAT IS ANNIHILUS?
ANNIHILUS IS A PASSION PROJECT THAT HAS BEEN IN THE WORKS SINCE 2014 TO CREATE A MOD TO MODERNIZE AND EVOLVE THE AMAZING GAME OF DIABLO II. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE DIABLO FANS FEEL LIKE THEY'RE EXPERIENCING DIABLO II FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN WHILE KEEPING THE SOUL AND FEEL OF THE ORIGINAL GAME WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE. WE PLAN TO WORK CLOSELY WITH OUR PLAYERS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY AND DIABLO EXPERIENCE THAT WE CAN ALL BE PROUD OF AND EXCITED TO SHARE WITH OTHERS. REBALANCED SKILLS
ONE OF OUR MAIN FOCUSES IS TO CREATE CLASSES THAT CAN BE PLAYED IN MANY WAYS WHILE KEEPING THE CLASS THEME INTACT. SYNERGIES HAVE BEEN REMOVED SO THAT PLAYERS AREN'T FORCED TO FUNNEL THEIR SKILL POINTS INTO SKILLS THAT WON'T ACTIVELY BE USED, INSTEAD MANY SKILLS NOW INTERACT DIRECTLY WITH EACH OTHER.
TRULY UNIQUE ITEMS
WE HAVE REWORKED EVERY UNIQUE ITEM IN THE GAME TO MAKE THEM FEEL TRULY UNIQUE. INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON RAW STATS LIKE RARE ITEMS, UNIQUE ITEMS WILL HAVE UNIQUE EFFECTS THAT ARE OFTEN BUILD-ENABLING.

NEW ENDGAME CONTENT
ANNIHILUS OFFERS MANY NEW CHALLENGING NEW AREAS, MONSTERS, AND BOSSES. THIS INCLUDES UNSTABLE RIFTS THAT APPEAR RANDOMLY THROUGHOUT THE GAME. INTERACTING WITH THEM WILL SPAWN WAVES OF COMPLETELY RANDOM MONSTERS. IF YOU MANAGE TO KILL THEM ALL BEFORE THE TIMER RUNS OUT, AN EXPLOSION OF LOOT AWAITS YOU. YOU CAN ALSO USE RIFTSTONES WHICH WILL SPAWN HIGH LEVEL MAPS, RIFTSTONES ARE CRAFTABLE AND YOU CAN DIRECTLY CONTROL THE DIFFICULTY OF THE MAP. THE HIGHER THE DIFFICULTY, THE HIGHER THE REWARD! IF YOU'RE UP FOR AN EVEN BIGGER CHALLENGE, YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO TAKE ON THE CRUCIBLE. THE CRUCIBLE IS A TRULY RANDOMIZED 100 LEVEL DUNGEON THAT GROWS IN DIFFICULTY WITH EACH LEVEL, AND THE RUN ENDS IF YOU DIE. POWERFUL BOSSES AWAIT YOU EVERY 10 LEVELS TO ATTEMPT TO THWART YOUR EXPEDITION!
NEW PROGRESSION SYSTEM: SOUL GRID
PLAYERS WILL START THE ANNIHILUS CHARM, WHICH GRANTS THE ABILITY TO ABSORB SOULS FROM POWERFUL ENEMIES. AS PLAYERS PROGRESS THROUGH THE GAME THEY WILL COLLECT SOULS THAT WILL EMPOWER THEIR ANNIHILUS, GRANTING A SOUL POINT TO FURTHER CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER IN THE SOUL GRID. SOME ENEMIES SUCH AS ACT BOSSES WILL DROP A GREATER SOUL, WHICH IS A SOCKETABLE SOUL THAT YOU CAN PUT INSIDE YOUR ANNIHILUS THAT OFFERS A UNIQUE EFFECT BASED ON THE MONSTER IT CAME FROM.
